Important! : Turbo manifold

  1. #1
Right ive found a manifold for my turbo conversion and made an offer on it.

Buy it now price is 395 i made an offer of 300, still willing to pay the 395 just testing the seller.

This has a t3 flange and im going to be running a gt28 so need a t2.

How much work would be involved for a fabricator to remove the flange and weld on a t2?

Does this manifold look good quality and does anyone recognise it and know the make?

Would also like to know what turbo to replace the gt2860rs with if i go over 350bhp?

And which wastegates are best rated and what suppliers provide the best prices. Ill be running electronic control as well as mechanical

Primary's look large (too large). Wastegate takeoff isn't at an ideal angle although it's "ok". If you're after more than 350 and it's already got a t3 flange then why not just use a t3 flanged turbo?

Are you looking for a real 350hp or 350hp on a bit of paper that you can get from radically anywhere nowadays?

Figures dont bother me really, im just told the 28rs wont run much more. And ive spoken with the supplier they can supply one eith a t2 so thats good.

Why do they primarys look too large? I assume you mean the 4 cominng off the exhaust ports?

And im guessing this will reduce pressure.

Save yourself some money and go straight to the stockist ive messaged them and spoke all about it seem really good for the money, 321 stainless which is better for heat so im told, they will put on what flange you want and cheaper to start with from what he quoted me. The primaries are 42mm od and 35.4mm id with 3mm wall which should be a perfect size from what i know. Search madfactorymotorsport on facebook and send them a message they are abroad i think greece but cant 100% remember, if they will give decent discount for a few people i will be in!

    Gr2860rs won't do 350 on a 106/saxo pretty much full stop

Smaller primaries improve spool (to a point). Can't see what size they are so I'm guessing from the flange size.

If you're looking for a drivable car (I don't know what your end goal is) then 300-330 is basically perfect IMO for a road car. Very very lively, still scares you, but is manageable. Can also be achieved on a sensible turbo like a gtx28 of some kind.

Ive asked them to fit the t2 flange and they did reply saying that they could do that.

Ross what is the ID of yours?

they did quote me £320 plus postage which is fair i think.

Didnt think it would, ill push it to its limits and then get a gtx next time i rebuild.

the new engine is fully capable of running upto 400 anyway.

and i hope to hit at least 300atw but we will see, im not chasing figures entirely just trying to get some good quality parts on it. and you know me, i dont like spending money i dont need to

It's a good manifold for that price for sure. Manifolds are really forgiving on boosted engines you'd be surprised what you can run!

I run a Dp manifold as that's what I've had for 5 odd years. I'd certainly not buy another though if I were starting again.

Yeah the DP ones with the External gate take off and in stainless puts you back a lot haha.

I was toying with the idea of a GR performance custom one as they will build it to your exact required spec and they are 40 minutes from me.

but the issue is again its nearly £600 after you have an external wastegate take off.

this is £320.. which is very cheap compared to others.

Sorry if you were mislead, this isnt my work(though, i would love to be able to weld to this quality)

Last year(s) myself and Titch. This years loom is Constella as it needs a full wire tuck and rebuild from scratch.

    Hmmm..

Will be running an omex 600.

the loom is all there and was wired by the previous owner. do you know Jordon Holdsworth? im sure he's down your way.

Constella are kinda local to me, and i know beaniesport love working with Omex wiring.. tempted to have them build me one but then again a harness from atspeed is 145. anyone know what kind of work is involved with actually finishing off the wiring and what skill level is needed?

    Thanks
