Exhaust setup too loud!

  1. #1
Currently running a raceland mani with a supersprint unsilenced centre section
And 2" backbox on my vts and finding it way too loud!

May just be me getting old but it's giving me a headache!
I'm looking to get into track days and I imagine the exhaust could be a problem.

Thinking of putting a standard backbox back on but will it quieten it down and not sound crap ?

I ran that exhaust and got 102db at Cadwel, limit on most uk tracks is 105db.

Get a magnex back box, they are pretty quiet. Brought mine down to 73db.

Supersprint silenced centre pipe will knock off 12db

i dont understand how the tracks are so inconsistant...

went to brands with 100bhp vtr manicat still in and 2" pugsport 82dB

    snetterton vts 120bhp 4-2-1 manifold 2" pugsport 79dB

both stationary at 3/4 of rev range (and the knob at snett made me hit the limiter to see what it was truely at)

i checked both outside the workshop using my iphone (i know its not accurate but its constatantly inaccurate) and obviously the vts was 2-3dB louder...

Yeah my local track is knockhill and pretty sure that's 105db.

I would have to modify the centre pipe and use a sleeve to fit a magnex backbox, plus they never sit right.
