Saxo vtr power gain ideas

  1. #1
Just looking for some tip to gain extra power. I'm currently running Vtr as a Tarmac rally car, have 4branch, induction kit, closer ratio gearbox andhead recently stripped and new valves springs etc all done. I'm looking for other ideas to help keep the power up. Not looking for heavy budget ideas. Any info greatly appreciated.

Swap the engine out for the 16v in my opinion.

Rallye head conversion, or new camshaft and mapping etc. Other than that cant really go any further without a big budget

16v not an option for the class I run. Camshaft is next on list just find car coming out off corners is bit sluggish. Need try keep power up.

Sounds interesting. Obviously different class structures over there.

In this case then you need head work doing buddy porting and polishing etc will help when pulling out of the corners.

Can you run a different gearbox too? That'll help a lot

He said in the original post he's running a close ratio box so probably not a lot more you can do there. Unless he's running the standard CWP in which case that would be an upgrade option.

Ah my bad I didn't see that part. Pretty much out of ideas now really, it starts to get expensive after the usual cam and head mods are done and you are moving on to bodies etc
