A few perfomance questions before buying!

Hello mates!nice to find you! I am John from Greece, i had a mk1 saxo vts 16v from 2006-2008 until an accident i had.
My experience that years was when i was at first stage ,meaning filter - ecu remap and full exhaust with a friends mk2 with only filter and a exhaust, i kept loosing every time!
(not my saxo mk1 wasnt slow cause i had tested many times)
the fun was that he hadnt a remap and he had 15' wheels too and still was stronger!

throuth the years i learned for the mk2 for the metalic gasket the better ecu that can identify the gazoline octanes and take advantage from them and others.(even automatic change the advance)
    Are all this true?

Cause there is a second example, when i was full oem no mechanical changes at all, with another friend mk2 with filter and only different exhaust tail, after the second gear i lost him.

he had 16'' wheels and i had 14'' wheels...

    so !whats the truth finally?

Trimetalic headgasket was fitted only on later 1.6 16v engines found in 206 , 307 , c4 etc
Original "paper " headgasket is 1.2mm thick whereas the metalic one is 0.7mm so by fitting one you get a slight increase in engine compression
In theory all cars with an ecu and lamda sensors can rectify fueling for increased fuel efficiency resulting in better power outputs.

Now the differences with your mates cars are probably down to hidden modifications , metalic headgasket , shorter final drive ratios , bigger fuel pressure regulator etc

    Good morning mate!
    a) do you mean that the mk2s had paper headgasket too ?
b)in theory the mk2 ecu from people I am hearing was smarter than the mk1.
    c) no my friend's cars had no hidden mod!

Yes.. the mk2s had paper headgasket ...

Wheel size will affect it. Smaller wheels, faster acceleration, lower top end and also even if the circumference of the tread is the same on both, the smaller wheel probably has more tread on the road for better traction.

Also, your friend may just be a better driver...
