F*ck knows how this has happened, but checking my oil last night and I noticed the end of my dipstick has somehow broken off in the engine! Wondering if there's a filter there to catch it and save me an engine or get it sorted straight away? Just a 1.1 Saxo Desire

#2how much has broken off?
If it's just a little bit, i'd drop the sump and try find it. If it's quite a long bit then you might be able to get it out with a magnet -
#3same opinion here, drop the sump in about ten minutes, or go have the oil changed and let the mechanic know and he'll get it out for you.

#4Just the little plastic bit at the end mate. When I buy a new one is it worth looking at a metal one? Think the Peugeot 206 uses metal for their dipsticks and they can fit the Saxo decentlyQuote:how much has broken off?

Cheers mate -
#5do you mean the little plastic ball that's on the end? If so, plastic is softer than metal. It'll get destroyed if it gets into the engine. I doubt it would cause an issue but again, drop the sump and take a look
