Best turbo for saxo vts.

  1. #1
Hi, as the title says whats the best turbo for a std citroen saxo vts 1.6 16v tu5j4.

I want a turbo that would spool fast and would good for the std engine. Later i will change to low com pistons and ect. But for now i would like to have a turbo and i am planing to do most of the work myself. Best if you know a good turbo from some other car i could find a good one in the scrapyards

    Thank you.

Ok thank you for telling i will wait for more people opinions but will check this turbo maybe will buy new.
Btw is the td04 any good for a saxo? And the gt1752S is the correct model? And what kind of boost i can run on these turbos?

    Thank you.

GT1752 is the model to look out for, 200bhp no drama, spools from 2,000ish rpm and it's strong and light and perfect for that level!

Very good to hear that i am think of it. Btw can i push 200hp from std engine? And i am thinking can i put cat cams 743 and turbo to have good low end power and when the turbo spools have even more? Maybe its so other cams that is better for the job. And one more can i do a hi comp engine and put a turbo on it?

Standard cams will be better than 743's for low engine rpm power. Stay with standard engine, standard compression and you will be fine for 200hp if mapped correctly.

I wouldn't recommend high-comp and turbo - will need very careful setup.

what you have asked and what you intend to do later are contradictory
your gt17 or silva turbo t2 will be fine for std engine with boost regulated --but you are not putting forged internals in to run same power ,so then the turbo will be wrong --do some more thinking and decide where you want ot go eventually and then you won,t be changin turbo,s and isntallations -

How longs a piece of string? Will you be doing the work yourself? Do you want to go standalone or 5th injector? Etc

For a fairly decent budget setup it would probably end up around £2000 if you did the bulk of it yourself. That would include a predator standalone courtesy of Luthor ^^^

If you were looking to get it done for you how much would it be ish ( including labour) ? Around the 200bhp mark

I might take my throttle bodies off, sell them and go down this road next...
    165bhp aint enough lol

Yes but don't compare 165bhp atmo with 165bhp turbo: the torque isn't the same

Thats what Im after, more torque at the lower rev range.
The way mine is set up to get that figure NA all the power is after 4000rpm...

just remember more torque means more wheelspin and more load on transmission =clutch
so don,t be suprised if the clutch complains

I have too much torque on my VTS and no turbo and spins for the fun of it in 1st and 2nd lol Was thinking to turbo mine however id need to get torque sorted out first.

I wish most cars were RWD like they used to be. Would be much more fun.

There are some FWD turbo cars like the Opel Corsa GSI which is not bad!

Ok, it's not bad but my Saxo 16v is also fast (my brother had a GSI, so we did a test )

I think that a Saxo turbo with good clutch and tires (R888 for example) can be really fun
