So after getting my cv boot done n a few other parts notcied that I had no gearbox oil or very little left and had about a cuppas worth of oil left in it.

looking on inspection after cleaning up and running round for a few days have now come to the conclusion of what it is after getting up on ramp and booking in for work to be done.

    Parts needed

    Selector gearbox seal.

And gear selector parts from guide as now decided as the seals gone and found the old ball thing e ma jig on its gone or foobard too..

parts needed from thread any idea where to get as looking on ebay and theirs no parts other than the main bar found.

The large circular bush on No. 1, Selection Bar Part No. 2414A7 £36.87 +VAT
    Part one found me thinks

The spherical nylon ball on No. 2, Control Return Part No. 244965 £37.19 +VAT
The socket cups on No. 4, 4 and 5, gear rods. Don't have a part no. for these as uprated replacements are widely available from the likes of Kam Racing/Pug1off from £39.00 which is cheaper than main dealer prices.
The upper No. 4 gear rod connects to a control arm on the gearbox. This is held onto a spindle in the box by a Roll Pin, Part No. 250924 £0.32 +VAT

106parts.com. expensive but they sell hard to find stuff such as the selector ball. Get uprated linkages from constella or kam racing, they standard ones are expensive and not really that good considering the cost.
Are you sure its not the driveshaft seals leaking rather than selector?

Almost 100% cleaned it all off and nice n dry. Went for a long drive come home looked around and found oil coming out the gear top gear selector part. double checked around where drive shaft seals are under and was wet but traced the oil back to where the selector is. Also put somthing for the oil to stop it going down and no oil on the driveshaft. Going to have another look in a sec and get some pictures if I can.

Just had a look and seems as where i was on about is correct. Will take pictures in morning n get some uploaded

106parts.com agreed expensive as checked for the rod is like £50 and other parts are well stupidly expensive. Might take a trip down to a few scrap yards n see if theirs any broken down ones in good conduction

Well after checking it is now confirmed it is the seal on the gearbox selector bar seal that has gone. Cleaned off again and gone driving all dry left for a few hours felt with hand and wet and smells like garlic.

I also noticed on it that the pin is partly out is this meant to go right though to the other side so the pin is on both sides ? or is it meant to be on one side only???
