what diesel pump is this, lucas or bosch?

    just wondering if my saxo has a lucas or bosch pump as i might want to use svo in it

    certainly looks like bosch, is the accelerator lever on the top and does it say bosch on the casing?

    Yh i think the lever is on the top but cant see the name as the casing is coverd in dirt lol

    It's a full mechanical Bosch.

    Differs from the later type ECU controlled ones.

    If you're thinking about touching the fuel screw, don't. it's IMPOSSIBLE without removing the pump because there's an armour with special security bolts which need cut off.

    That switch on the top is for detecting WOT, for the EGR valve.

    It does have bosch stamped on the casing, it's "wedged" right down behind the number 1 injector on the side of the pump.

    Cheers Martin, i dont intend on messing with the pump as economy is number 1 priority, thanks for letting us know for sure its a Bosch

    If economy is priority, blank off the EGR valve (or even just remove the vacuum pipe leading to it, and plug it)

    it reduces thermal efficiency, and in a diesel that's what you don't want.
