power figures

   Brought my vts a month or so ago, is this dyno report about right for the modifications?
   
   Bmc induction
   
   4-2-1 manifold
   
   Saxsport decat system
   
   Thats all i no of.. The old owner didnt actually have a clue about engines or cars, dumb as a plank!! Anyway cheers guys

   Its a comical torque figure, more likely its actually N m which converts to 118.8 lb ft which sounds right.
   
   As for bhp, i've seen 147bhp with breathing mods before but most folk will think its an inflated figure.

   Cheers mate, thought it was abit suspicious my mate has a fully forged xe lump in his nova and that only makes 170 something.. The dyno on mine was done at red dot racing if anyones heard of it... I no i haven't lol

   And his xe'd nova runs a set of mild cams plus headwork and the usual zorst, mani ect..

   When this car left the factory in the peak of its fitness, it made 120bhp.
   
   After having travelled close to half way to the moon in distance, you'd be lucky if it made 110bhp still.
   
   So what we're saying here is that a decat, exhaust and air filter can give a saxo 35+bhp.
   
   I'm in the wrong car - a decat, filter, exhaust and remap only gave me 30bhp. On a 4.2 V8

   Wait - is that even a saxo dyno graph?
   
   Why only revved to 5.5k? And why is the power trailing off at that point?

   Exactly my thoughts ross..its a 2001 y reg and the graph does have the registration number of the car at the top so im led to believe its the same car.. As dave said its a comical figure probably been fiddled with

   Stranger things have happened mate just seems... "weird" if you get me. I mean, take it to a dyno day and get it done in your ownership. See if it makes power similar to other peoples with similar specs. If it doesn't (IE, it makes more) start looking for other mods - a remapped and cammed engine would be up there at that power, but the 5.5k revs confuses me. :/

    I dunno if its had anything else done theres naff all paperwork i no that much, also ticks over at 1000rpm solid, cold or hot which i find strange

    Yeah i plan too mate, just keep my eye out for a dyno day failing that theres a garage close to me with a renowned tuner peter baldwin runs the dyno there so might take it over, try my luck
