Power loss when hot!

    As title... When it's hot my car looses so much power and uphill it's so noticeable takes the thrill from driving needs sorting

    Cars generally slow down when going uphill, unless your in a cammed vts of course

    Well i guess you gotta drive it to understand and yeah crappy open air although I watch a vid of these guys doing doing tests on different types of filter and there was no difference :o

    Hot air is less dense and contains less oxygen to burn. The cooler the intake air the more power the engine can make.

    If you run an open cone filter, and put it (say) 12" from your 650+ degree C exhaust, it's going to do nothing except suck up HOT air...

    Refit the standard airbox (and pipework), fit a performance panel filter, and you'll notice the difference - especially in warmer weather.
