Fibre glass bonnet, remove sun roof and mechanism and use metal sheet in it's place. If you use thin metal and just rivet it, it'll be lighter.
Get a race battery but will probably need jumping to start it etc

Lightweight wheels & brakes if you can afford it.... unsprung weight will be even more of a bonus than normal weight loss too 👍

Few things to consider is where is the weight you losing coming from ?
Front engine Front wheel drive is going to be some what front end heavy to start out so becareful where you take the weight from as you dont wanna make it even more front end heavy and end up with a negative result in performance

Also trying to saveweight in the front i consider a little harder than rear/middle of the car and can be a bit expensive if your going for lighter parts

I was always taught by my old man that weight balance is one of the most important factors in a cars performance and that what ever end of the car the engine is placed that is the place where you start losing weight first.

Standard Saxo / Remove much possible front weight / find out what your balance between F/R , then determine how far your willing to go with removing weight in the rear/middle before your causing a negative result

If your adjustable for dampers and what not then you can go a bit more ape shit with breaking the cars weight split as you can set the car up to control weight movement to balance things out a little

Sorry if thats a mouthful of complicated english lol ive had a few to drink =)

you can remove the plastic formers behind the bumper skins and use lightweight fixings to stop it flapping around iirc .... not much weight but its as good as free

True. Its tough to do stuff to the frontend on the cheap though as you need lightweight replacements. The OP needs to remember its only a fun car not a race car so dont go too extreme as its financially not worth it.

Personally I would have a 106 Rallye simply for the fun factor of a lightweight front end and a great balanced steering feel.
