No Oil Pressure

   Our VTS has zero oil pressure, we fitted an oil pressure gauge and it shows nothing, the oil warning light is on permanantly. So we removed the pressure sensor and started it and no oil comes out of that, checked the oil filter and it's fine. Using 10w40 semi synthetic oil and oil is getting to the cams when running.
   
   What can we check and do?

   Have you changed the head gasket recently?

   Normally i'd of said that the oil strainer on the oil pump might be blocked,but if oil is getting to the cams then no.Have you tried a compression test?

   Where did you fix the sensor too?

   We have a t-piece on where the oil sensor oes just behinf the exhaust manifold, which now has a mechanical oil sensor with a copper pipe and the oil pressure sensor installed.
   
   Tried just the gauge and 0 pressure, tried just the sensor and the light it still on.
   
   The engine seems to run fine, cylinders have good compression, not changed the head gasket at all.

   Was it working before you fit the gauge?

   we fitted an electrinic gauge which was cheap and nasty and it was bouncing around at low pressure to start with, around 20psi then after a couple mins it went to 0 pressure so we thought the gauge was crap. We did a track day with this gauge, then fitted this mechanical gauge which still showed no pressure so we thought there must be a problem somewhere.

   Bit odd, No oil coming out the sensor hole in the block but it's getting to the head.

    Worn bearings cause low oil pressure.

    ok so now we have no oil going to the cams either. It was run on fully synthetic for about 500 miles, would that make any difference?

    found the problem, jammed with silicone instant gasket from the cam covers.

    never use the stuff my self if i can help it
    
    and as my dad allways use to say with instant gasket less is more
