Ok so most will no my clutch cable went 2 weeks back.
So without going in to detail again garage replaced it but just didn't want to go into 1st or reverse. Took at least 10mins to finally get it into reverse 😡
So left it sat on the driveway all week while I've worked away, came back Friday and goes into gear and reverse first time every time 😄
Bit confused as to why this is, surely it won't have as we say bedded in when not been used. Any ideas

Well all seemed well yesterday so took car out today on a little run and seemed okay to start with then when I was setting off at junctions and lights the thing just would not go into 1st or second gear even when pressing the clutch on and off. Was having to force it into 3rd gear and Rev it to get going and if I put it in reverse its almost like the clutch isn't fully engaged and stalls the car 😡

the cable needs adjustig then most likely? Had it once where the biting point was very high up the pedal then it leveled itself within a couple of days.

yeah don't bother with a picture, it does sound that way. As above go back to the garage and have them adjust it for you, shouldn't take long.

Are the 106 cables adjustable or is it just the Saxo ones mate?

they're the same cars basically, bar a couple of minor differences. Gearboxes and clutches have been the same for donkey years. I had a pug 305 a long time ago and the gearbox/clutch felt exactly the same, with the typical pin missing wobble.

Ok had a closer look at this clutch cable once everything was out the way and I can't see how you would adjust it.
Does it look like the correct cable and does it look like its on correctly?

some saxo's and 106's have automatically adjusting clutch cables, mainly the later ones i beleive. peugeot did some weird shit at the end of the 90's early 2000's.

chances are the linkages are bent from being removed. take it back to the garage

Little update guys looks like the clutch cable I had fitted was obviously a gti one that turns out to be an automatic adjustment one wich is great on a standard clutch but not a paddle clutch that I've now found out
Turns out I need one that has a manual adjustment to adjust for the paddle clutch found on 106 quicksilver and older Saxos I believe.
Will be fitting the new cable end of week then it can be adjusted manually and I no I won't have to worry about it snapping taking it to gmc.
