Take your one off, get it lightened. Job done

Thats to much hassle and they are prone to cracking, plus I like new shiney things

I had my standard flywheel lighted and had no issues. I was running standard power but had an XSi box fitted at the time followed by an S1 rallye gearbox.
Never had any issues under heavy work, was extremely annoying though when sat in traffic as it tends to kangaroo a little bit more if not careful.

I wanted a Fidanza one at the time but couldnt source one..

    Quick search on Google...

Whilst rebuilding my saxo vts engine, I had the flywheel taken off and put to a local precision engineering company to lighten her up, they took off 1.2kg. worked perfect noticed a huge difference in acceleration / pull!! no reason why you shouldn't use your one?

If your one is face crazed- -then get one that isn,t and lighten it --

Waiting to get mine balanced but this is second one I've had done and it works a treat. Just on the track tho. Haven't had experience on a road car.

I dont want to get mine lightened, read horror stories bout that. I want to buy one, looking for advice on where is best and which specific one to get as I notice theres 4 or 5 options.

unless its aone piece steel one --you get more trouble with the alloy with steel insert.
as for balance if you machine itevenly it will still be balalcned and unless you are going to get it balanced with clutch cover --then its a waste of time --it will be close enough
if you revving to 10k --that would be differnt

    So I shouldnt bother then?

So I won't need to balance in John? It was done at a well respected engineering place over here. He just hasn't the machine to balance. But he has assured me it would be fine. Was just being cautious. I'm going no where near 10k revs either. It's down to 3.5 kg

looks like one of mine except not hard anodised --so it will corrode fiarly quickly

Will be getting an anodising setup soon for parts.
