1.6 16v L.A.D Motorsport engine apparently?

  1. #1
Hello guy and girls I'm buying a new engine for my Vts and saw one for sale
It's got L.A.D motorsports stamped into the head near where the inlet or exhaust ports sit.
Just wondering is there litrally any benefit in this? As in does it mean it's ported or anything like that or just a big standard engine and head most likely?

    Any help would be great
    Thanks
    Adam

    Could email LAD and ask

LAD used to be really well known. Their headwork was actually quite good, but their power claims were always too high and I think that fucked public perception of them.

Everything made 160bhp lol. They are still going strong. Seem to do good work, but it was poor marketing...

That's what I heard about lad, every car would make 160bhp, I mean with average breathing mods and cams normally only see about 149-157bhp ish if it's cheap enough I will buy it, but I was wondering if they used big valves or anything like that? Or if they litrally just ported and polished the inlet and exhaust ports

I'd imagine they would build a head to whatever spec the customer required. The seller should know the spec

160 shetland ponies maybe --not proper horse power --nothing wrong with lad -but power figures-- ive dyno more than one +140 tops

My original vts had one of their evo engines. Meant to make 180bhp lol

152 with other breathing mods in reality. Still, not a bad figure.

The guy seems to know nothing about the engine at all and has never had it in a car he bought the car and it came with it, for£80 pounds I didn't know weather is was worth taking a punt or not
