JBradys VW CC

  1. #1
Big changes for me recently, my VTR overheated several times and didn't want to spend money fixing head gasket etc on the VTR as well as money on my turbo project so decided to break up the Icelandic R and buy a decent daily and keep building the turbo.
    The VTR now lives here....

I sold it to a race team local to me who races in Saxmax(JSCC) and will use the shell for body parts.

Anyway this is my new daily! 2012 (62) Volkswagen CC 2.0 turbo derv, 170bhp. Got heated leather seats, nav, Bluetooth, all that bollocks.

Wanting DPF delete and remap to about 210-215bhp, lower it 30-40mm, some nice 19" or 20" wheels, painted badges and trims here and there and I'll be happy!

Won't be half as good a progress thread as my VTR though

I agree but I'd be rude not to do a few small things

No interior shots yet but will get some soon! It'll be having full valet and polish/wax very soon so will get more piccys then!

    Good man

Do these have a gangsta rear seat layout with 2 individual rear seats and some sort of centre console affair?
  5. #5
This is what I mean! Mmmmmmmm

  6. #6
Very smart! What's the difference between a CC and a normal Passat, apart from appearance?

Those rear seats are awesome if its got them!

Mines the newest model, the older ones had them! I have 5 seats in the back but the middle seat is small, the back 2 outer seats are like proper actual seats still and you can fold a console down from the back of the seat so you have cup holders and an armrest

The CC is more of sporty/coupe car rather than family oriented car. Tbh I can't imagine there is much difference but the CCs look awesome!
I've also got the dynamic chassis, sport, normal or comfort etc. it has much bass from the 10 speakers and sub it has too
It also has an electronic XDS diff? Which apparently can lock the front wheels under hard cornering, so I'm guessing some sort of electronic go at a limited slip? Must say it really handles well and takes to been thrown about very well

    Sounds posh!

Nah, I gave it a miss in the end. No one bid at £1250, so I offered £900 and he wouldn't go lower than £1150. I wanted a bargain and judging by what others were going for I didn't feel it was worth paying over £1k for.

Was hoping he would meet me in the middle somewhere but he didn't lol.

Obviously as you can imagine not much done on this haha...just kitted it out with white LeDs everywhere, painted the rear badge black but with a white background as opposed to the standard chrome with black background and bought lots of silicone hoses etc and made my own induction kit for some mad choo choo turbo noises!

Still to fit DPF pipe but got myself a black roof and a small black sun strip, nothing big but just to make it look that bit more aggressive!

DPF Delete fitted, then been mapped, DPF delete and EGR remove too. Should be about 215-220bhp now. Goes well, timed 6.9 to 60 the other day but it pulls like a train at any speed.
    About 400 ft-lb of torque.

    Ecu opened up:

Also got some Stuttgart wheels for it a few nights ago.
    19", 9.5j rears and 8.5j fronts.
I like them but the fronts are too flat, not concave enough and the tyres look to thin I think.
Will be lowering it soon so it will look better but mehh, they'll do for now!

Have you had it lifted in the meantime?

Looks good, I'm not 100% on the wheels, but they're subjective.

Haha noo does look higher on these wheels.
The wheels are staying subject to lowering, once lowered, if no better they're going as I'm not a fan of them right now either tbh. But they were cheap so I should be able to sell them on for same if not a profit

Where the hell is he these days?

Have to say I'm not a huge fan of the wheels either, the spokes are a bit thin for a car this size. Apart from that, it looks pretty pimpin!
  29. #29
Not sure on the wheels, but love the downpipe.
    Darkside? in Rotherham?
  30. #30
Pictures don't do wheels justice, they look better in person don't get me wrong, but still not 100%.
Yes Darkside 3" down pipe. Straight through now and soon getting a custom exhaust so be 3" to the back as the down pipe reduces to 2" to meet standard system.
Going for a tail pipe out each side of the rear too

    That looks comfy that does.

I was about to say I was suprised at the lack of rear legroom, but then I clocked the seat backs are behind the B-Pillar by some margin, so I imagine you were either cleaning it, or you're one of these yoof's that sits on the floor in the back of the car when you're driving lolz

    She's nice ayeee!
The tyres arent that quiet compared to the standard wheels but it's still very quiet inside.
No that's how I sit haha, can still get an adult in the back though! Doesn't look like lots of leg room but once you get in, there's plenty. I can also move my seat forward slightly and then backseat passengers (ma bitchez) get a good 18ft of leg room!

Day to day wise, can't explain how much I love this over the saxo.
Them evenings/weekends you want to go out, just hammer it, throw it about a bit...miss the saxo so much. This is faster and tbh, not much different in the corners as it has some electronic limited slip diff and i can choose to stiffen the dampers up inside, but the drama and atmosphere of the saxo. Was something else.

Know that feeling after my last turbo Saxo went to a 380bhp Subaru and then a Mini Cooper s the driving and fun factor wasn't the same I had with my Saxo so reason I'm back with a new turbo one.

Weird to explain when you know the Saxo is a tin can lol.

Yeah it's not just the speed, it's the buzz they give you. You feel you're right on the edge and everything's going to fall off, but you're only doing 70...haha! Good laugh they are.

Coilovers ordered with adjustable damping too!
Will be going in for custom exhaust soon too, at the moment got a 3" down pipe that reduces to 2.25" for standard system but having 3" all the way back and a tip on each side of the car.

Then just new wheels and Audi TTRS brakes!

Coilovers arrived today! Adjustable ride height and 16-way adjustable damping.
Took 5 hours to get the front 2 done so will be doing the rears another day, ASAP The top of the shock thread was so shitty and rusty that we had to heat nut up and undo it a bit at a time but it eventually rounded off and arggghhh getting the old struts apart was a nightmare!
However, they're on although no pics of them fitted just yet! Wheels tucked just inside the arch but they've got another 30-40mm drop in them!

Sits nice and low now. Put some 3SDMs on, 20"x8.5j....they look awesome but rub like hell on all 4 corners and when there is more than one passenger it's so bad. Raised the coilovers right up and stiffened the dampers to max but still scrapes badly.
Not sure I'll be keeping them! Think 20s make it look a bit too high too so maybe some 19s are needed!

What does it ride like on coilovers?

Coilovers are fine! Got adjustable damping which takes literally 2 seconds to adjust so long journey I'll soften it off but even stiff, they're not bad at all!

I was debating colour coding the rear bumper and side chrome strips yes but the wheels I want eventually, I want splits, gold centres with chrome lip so it would match the chrome on the car then?
Also when I come to sell it, I'd want to be putting it back to original state so be a ball ache.
    Ideally need them wrapping!

Haven't been on here for 6 months now! Popped back on for a look around, thought I'd do a quick update!

Not a lot has happened really, back on my standard wheels as wanted something new for this year. Some Bola ZZRs are looking promising so far, along with hopefully air ride, a spoiler and a new exhaust system, wanting a nice rolled tip out of each side of the bumper.
I've fitted a polybush lower engine mount and throttle response is definitely better, as well as a nice strut brace, the brace has honestly transformed the handling, made such a difference I couldn't believe it!

I smoothed and resprayed my front bumper...

Also had the car detailed and paint decontaminated, sealed and waxed etc!

Also got plans for thicker anti roll bars, bigger brakes, a neuspeed lightened under drive crank pulley (apparently 5-7bhp gains) and also will be getting it rolling roaded with a custom map at some point too as I'm not happy with the map on it now.
Just need to see as start of next year i want a Golf R!
