Any ideas?! Paintwork!

  1. #1
    Hi

I was having trouble with a leak on passenger side for a couple of months and have been to lazy to look into it.
Managed to sort it this morning, where I have been using temporary fixes when it rains ( I've been using black bags and sellotape/ducktape) it has left marks on paintwork. Any ideas how to remove them without damaging it?

    Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Petrol or a solvent should get rig of the glue.

Warm it up with a hair dryer first

Thinners or hit it with a head gun and see if it will peel off.

Acetone, thinners will damage the paint and the heat gun will just make it messy

Try some bug and tar remover, then wash off and wax after.

Furniture polish works, spray on leave for a few mins then wipe away with a microfibre cloth.
    I'd try avoid thinners.

I'm actually going to give this a go, looks pretty decent for the price.

I normally just use white spirits - which in a lot of scenarios isn't ideal.
