Hey guys, I'm not sure if I'm in the right section to sorry if I'm not. I've been shopping round recently for the best car washing, polishing and waxing products and have come across Maguire's, So brought a 3 step cleaning kit and the advance car wash solution. The trouble is that after I have washed my car and before even I noticed little black specs of dirt embedded in on the roof mainly it will come off but its very hard to get it off, Is there a certain product I can get to remove it safely I don't really want to scratch my paintwork not even a pressure washer takes it off so its abit frustrating. Thank you in advance, Once again sorry if I am in the wrong section.

#2It sounds like they're tar spots.
I used the Autoglym tar remover the other day and it worked, just the bigger spots need a bit more persuasion to get off the bodywork. Haven't used any other products though so there might be better stuff out there. -
#3Thanks for the quick reply, will go buy some tomorrow and see if I can shift them ^^

#5The autoglym stuff is good. You may want to claybar the paintwork after as well to get everything out the paintwork.

#6Does the paintowork need to be pretty spotless before claying? I've had an AG clay kit for ages but I've never used anything like it before so I don't want to damage the paintwork!Quote:The autoglym stuff is good. Also, after its been clayed will it need some kind of sealant on it? The AG HD wax seems to have mostly good reviews. -
#7If you clay after washing the car, it will be clean enough to clay. If you're concerned, or used the car since washing it another wash won't hurt. You'll surprised at how much more muck it will pull off.Quote:Does the paintowork need to be pretty spotless before claying? #8Oh yeah, I'd definitely only do it immediately after its been washed and dried.Quote:If you clay after washing the car, it will be clean enough to clay. If you're concerned, or used the car since washing it another wash won't hurt. You'll surprised at how much more muck it will pull off.
Might do it at the weekend if the weather is good. Not expecting huge results as the car is silver! -
