This thing affecting my gear stick play?

    Was under the car during the weekend and thought I would give my linkages a wobble.

    I took a picture of the only thing moving and here it is...

    The arrows indicate the direction of play in this component. Is this normal or should it be pretty solid?

    I have no idea what I'm looking for...

    I would guess that it looks like the roll pin??? Am a right?

    Yeah that pin hanging out is the roll pin. On the guide he put a shim (Large washer) between the selector road and the gearbox (just below the pin there) to take out any play that the selector had.

    There's also a big nylon ball that has a tendancy to wear and give gearstick play.

    Pop a bit of copper greese in the cups before fitting though.

    and this is the roll pin, I'd difficulty getting peugeot to sell me one so I just bought a new one on eBay.

    It's a bit of a bollocks to fit but I followed the guide I linked you and got there in the end.
