I know the TU5JP4 engine generally used Evo 8 Plugs but what does the TU5J4 engine use?
Spark Plugs for Saxo VTS Turbo?

#2depends what your mapper recommends, IIRC an ngk 6 heat range plug is the standard fit, so changing to a 7 or even an 8 grade will help.
i have a vague memory of the JP4 plug being a different length to the J4 so you need to be very careful there!
edit: yes the earlier engine has a more standard pug 19mm thread length so you can use a BCR7ES or BCR8ES, both of which are pretty cheap at most motorfactors or off ebay. -
#3BCR8ES
14mm x 1.25mm x 16mm -
#4What spec is your engine?
The threads in a J4 are 14 diameter, 1.25 pitch and 19mm long -
#5Chip wizards you miss understand what I said; (but yes they are 19mm long)Quote:What spec is your engine?

14mm Thread x 1.25mm Pitch x 16mm Hex - Resistor Type - Temp rating 8 - 19mm Thread Reach - Standard Super Copper Core Centre Electrode -
#6It is the LENGTH that separates them from the JP4, which are circa 25mm long.

#7BCR8ES In my j4 head.

#8If it's not too boosty then PFR7B might be better suited for road use.
