    Thanks
Do you have it fitted on yours maybe? Could you post a photo if you do?
And beyond that it's straight bolt on right?

    Thanks again.
So you mean this thing needs to be longer right?

Do you have precise dimensions writen down somewhere maybe?
Also, is it worth it to have it on a 8v?
I assume you had one installed at one point.

No. Just keep the regular intake and put a greencotton filter in the airbox.

What will be the difference? I know that any performance numbers will be negligible with either, but what about sound?

The difference is using a proper quality air filter instead of something that will allow shit and dirt into your engine. How it sounds is not a factor to me.

Could you recommend any particular brands to put in there instead?
I've heard about panel filters that are cleanable. Is this a thing? Assuming I want a filter that's going to perform better than the stock one.

you can fit a Green cone in the Simota kit to replace the cheap element they come with.

As above, there's that option if you want more induction noise. Still a waste of money imho, because it's a lot of money just for a little more noise. When you do a lot of motorway miles, that can get tiring very quickly.

As I mentioned, green cotton. Avoid all the hyped up rubbish such as K&N, they will let dirt in too. Personally, I use MANN filters but then I drive audi. Mann filters are cheap enough considering the quality, most garages will use that.

As I said, Mann is quite the best in terms of quality/price. But don't expect more performance, it just won't happen on an 8v. Video below shows how to clean a green cotton filter...
