Bucket seats fitted - What resistor for airbag?

   Hello,
   I have a 2001 citroen saxo mk2 VTS which is going to the MOT soon.
   
   I have bucket seats in the car and the airbag light need to be turned off with resistors. The old seats had airbag and tensioners but I'm not aware off how many Ohm the resistors need to be?
   
   Any clues in here? I need 4 resistors but what resistance should they have?

   Thanks, but I have looked in there.. Seems like all the links for where to buy them is outdated, and there is different answers on what ohm to buy.. I already bought one pair of resistors which didnt work, thats why im making a thread to find the correct one and where to buy them.

   if you have buckets you should have harnesses, if you have harnesses you need a cage, and an airbag will be totally useless.

   I have buckets, and 6 point harness with a harness bar attached to the back of the car.. Whats your point? I know what I need and dont need.
   The point of the thread was to find out how much resistrance the resistor needed.
   
   It's not for track days, it's for low entry rally which doesn't have rollcage requirements :-)
   And the car has to pass MOT in northern europe.

   if you have harnesses then do away with the airbag system totally.
   
   
   I would never use a car without a cage if you have buckets.

   I don't need a cage and I can't remove the airbag system.

   yes you do need a cage as you have buckets and harnesses.

    Under the dash sitting on top of the "tunnel" under the carpet. unplug it.
    
    Cost £0 and the light will go off.
    
    Depending on the MOT tester, you'll still fail as it'll be obvious that standard SRS components have been removed. This is being clamped down this year as well when the new MOT manual comes out - and a whole rake of other things.

    You can use 3 point belts with a bucket seat.
    
    A lot of Porsches were built like that from factory (bucket seat with a normal seatbelt threaded through the holes in the sides of the seat), if it's good enough for them it's good enough for a Saxo.
    
    Besides, no matter what you've got in a saxo, if you crash that you're gonna have a bad time regardless.

    I didn’t mean shitty, just a bit strong haha. There are arguments on both sides and I don’t think it’s something we’re going to resolve on a Saxo forum. There’s plenty of conflicting evidence online, Takata released a statement saying it was acceptable to use the rear seatbelt mounting points for harnesses providing the backwards angle was within certain limits, and some car manufacturers fit buckets and harnesses without using a harness bar (Megane R24R for example).

    remove the entire lot, airbag steering wheel and airbag ecu... if its not there you cant fail it as you cant test it.

    MOT rules are constantly changing and updating. So just because it's been fine for years or the old favourite "it passed last year m8" doesn't mean it'll pass the next year
    
    If it was fitted to it from the factory, it needs to have these systems fitted.
    
    However, due to the age of the car it's really difficult to tell if it had any of these systems fitted or not, so if you do happen to remove everything it will probably pass more than likely.

    if it has a cage and buckets then its obvious it has been adapted for motorsport, there are notes to this effect in the book.

    If Mr Joe Bloggs chucks some bucket seats in a car even with harnesses and/or a cage and being used as a "track" toy doesn't qualify it to be tested for an MOT as a race/rally car and should fail an MOT. those features are not obviously for motorsport use.
    
    The rules are very clear.
    
    You must prove the car is for motorsport use and requires an MOT to travel between stages or to and from events etc. for example, a blue book, in date seats and harnesses and an MSA approved cage, fire extinguishers, bright or contrasting towing eyes/hooks/straps etc. Only features like that would make the car obviously (keyword! ) for motorsport use.

    there are many motorsport uses that don't need dated seats or harnesses, these don't concern an MOT man regardless.
