Cost Of Cams

   Newbie here...
   
   I have a Saxo VTS mk2
   
   Engine wise i have the following...
   
   4-2-1 Manifold, De Cat and cat back exhaust system with K&N air filter element with upgraded air ducting.
   
   Whats the best cam to go for?
   
   And whats the cost roughly?? Im looking at just the cams etc... Remap will be done by angel works.
   
   Will i just need cams or what??

   what are you using the car fro mate?? track, daily driver, etc.

   Dont mind an agressive cam tho... Providing it would operate ok?

   Catcams 708's seem to be the cam of choice at the mo. I think there around £360 from QEP. With those fitted + your current mods + remap, expect to see between 150-160bhp. If your engine is high mileage, it may be wise to replace hyd. lifters.

   you cant really go any wilder tean 708s without forged/machined pistons.
   go for the 708s mate.

   how much quicker than a standard vts would cams and a remap be then? would it leave it way behind? or could any1 compare the performance to another car? thanks

    I'd say a vts with cams/remap would be a fair bit quicker than a std one imo. Apparently, your looking at a 0-100 time of around 16-17 secs (22-ish secs 0-100 std) . QEP's 157bhp 106 managed 15.2 secs 0-100 using gps datalogger I believe, but I never seen/heard any other cammed vts' with proof of 0-100 times. with Expect to be on par with CTR's, 182's etc.

    I've been trying to get me some cams sorted for a while but its not going well however if your on par with CTR's and 182's I must get my act together as that is damn quick.

    quicker than ctr's and 182's. mid-low 6s to 60 nad mid 14 1/4 miles.

    Williams - I was going to say they are probably quicker than CTR's/182's, but I suppose I was being a bit conservative lol.
