New OZ Alloys & 20mm spacers

  1. #1
Finally managed to get my new front wheels on as I have finally got the new aluminium spacers back from the engineers.

Got these of a lad on the forum, good condition.

    What you guys think?

The 2nd and 3rd pic wheel isn't curbed or anything, it's just the paste from the new tyre being put on.

If anyones interested in these I can ask my dad to make some sets of them. There made out of solid 20mm thick aluminium so think it might be a few quid but if anyones interested I'll ask.

why did you get spacers made instead of just buying some 20mm spacers?

Look at this thread, start at the 8th entry and you'll see why!

hmmm, ok i see why now.

sounds like you were lucky to get away with the damage that was caused, it easily could have been much worse, especially at high speed.

having to use spacers is exactly the reason i decided not to get OZ alloys. sounds like i made the correct decision.

    Yeah it was very lucky!!

Although now with these solid spacers at least the same think won't happen again.

New pics added, all 4 wheels on now.
  7. #7
    looking good

fook me there big spacers never knew you need them that big
  8. #8
just enough to allow the wheel to keep from scrubbing the arch.
  9. #9
Ive got 16" oz wheels are you using spacers to clear the 6 pots as i dont use spacers on myn and they seem to be ok
  10. #10
Yeah the spacers allow the 4 pots to clear the wheel. It also pulls the wheels out that wee bit, makes for a better look.
  11. #11

Know it needs a good wash, but that looks sweet as
  12. #12
Cheers Mark, your right, it needs a damn good wash which will be done soon!
  13. #13
looking good mate, love the 4 pots
  14. #14
Main reason i wanted these wheels, as they show of the brakes very well. Brakes are brilliant, stop on a 10p piece!!!!!!!!!

OZ fitment wheels come in 35ET offset. You have to use 20mm spacers
to achieve the saxo/106 offsef of 15ET. (well anything near 20mm is fine)

You dont use the spacers to clear the space for bigger brakes, you are
supposed to use the 20mm spacers in every case!

Plus the wheels wont look right at all without them.
When you buy OZ wheels for a 106/saxo they should come with OZ interlocking
wheel spacers as these are much more safe then using regular spacers..
For example my interlocking spacers dont come away from the wheel without
    prying them off.

Rushy, yeah thats what i was meaning.

They don't sit right without the spacers as they are too far in. The 20mm gives the right off set for the saxo.

nice really like those alloys, your brakes look well nice behind them too, discs look a bit small tho.
  18. #18
    what size disks are they?

looking good though, cant wait to receive my alloys now
  19. #19
LOL what Im saying is I doubt they will fit over the discs without the spacers!
  20. #20
Disks are 283mm. Would have loved the 300+mm but too expensive!
  21. #21
Yea with 16s the 300+ discs would look better but for performance the
    283s are fine.
    282s suite 15s more imo.

  22. #22
They look sweet. Yeah the 300+mm behind my 17's would look better but the stopping with the 283's is perfect!

    wheels look good mate
