Also that link just shows how to cc them...do you follow the same insructions to
    smoke them?
  20. #20
i done mine the other day.

  21. #21
    what i done:
    1. hair dryer to soften glue
    2. pull glass off
    3. sand area to be painted
    4. prime (3 coats)
    5. spray (4 coats)
    6. remove glue from headlight
    7. re-assemble
    8. stick glass back on using silicone

use hair dryer to dry paint and primer quicker.

see page 1 for my pics.
  22. #22
Nice one mate looks good, although thats not smoked is it? Although looks good
  23. #23
and make sure you dont get fingerprints on the inside of the glass or the end result wont look that good

Pics would be awsome mate, i still have this question, my brother has a flame red corsa and liked the looked of smoked head lights - to DIY them is it the same process? Doesn't look like it even though the thread name is smoked head lights ??
  38. #38
what do you mean by smoked?
  39. #39
Smoked as in the title of the thread, someone said his car would looks really nice with smoked healights?
  40. #40
well tried fitting mine today an failed, one of the current headlight bolts wont undo its just spinning grrr there soaking in WD40 right now, its the top bolt thinking i might either hacksaw the bolt off or snap the plastic as its a new set of lights that av painted so the plastic is fine on them, so still no new lights as of yet
    gutted

  41. #41
mine are painted black and someone said they weren't smoked, so i was wondereing what you class as smoked?
  42. #42
yeah i thought thats what we all classed as smoked when u paint them black
    am i wrong
  43. #43
i dont know about mk2's but on mk1's u can grip the thing the bolt bites into (the nut sorta thing on the underside of the slam panel) with a set of pliers?
  44. #44
i did my mk1 front lights and fog lights and they look lush
  45. #45
fornt headlights, what spray paint is best used? thinking of doing mine weekend? dont all say black!!!! is their a special sort of spray used?
