tapping at the top?

   hiya i have a phase 1 vts
   i have noticed a tapping noise recently coming from the top off the engine.
   I was told the rocker cover gasket was changed by the previous owner and a mechanic friend said that it hasnt been torqued down properly could this be it?
   
   even thought the noise is slowly geting louder?
   
   any comments appreciated

   tappets mate, there is a thread telling you how to adjust them i did mine last week and its sorted now.

   but from reading that, you can't adjust the tappets on the VTS anyway mate!

   i just had a watch of that vido tho and thats the same sound as mine is making but on the opposite side???
   
   any ideas?

   are the spark plugs tight?
   they make a sort of tapping noise where the compression goes past them if they are loose.......
