    Buy a VT kit mate.

Someone selling one on here I think

That car has a (horrible) bodykit. Sorry... I'm just not a fan of kits.

You'd need to buy a VT* kit if you want your car looking like a VTR/VTS. You'd need to buy it, fit it, spray it, etc... You're talking about a "reasonable" amount of money.

    PM willsy for some information

yea.... thats what i want really but the money situation is baaaad. Would need to get it sprayed and fitted and thats a a fair bit of money. How much am i looking at the a respray of the bumpers and fitted you reckon?

Don't attempt something like that on a "tight" budget. Save and do it properly. You'll regret it otherwise.

yea - just how much you reckon it would cost really? Bro will put a decent some of money towards it hopefully as its his future car . Looking around £2k for both of us.

    Got your PM

Right firstly to get it looking like a VT* you'll need to buy the following:

    Front bumper
    Rear bumper
    Sideskirts
    Front arches
    Rear arches
    Door mouldings

You can either pick these up from on this site, i think theres a couple in the 'For sale' section at the moment.

Alternatively you can get bits fairly cheaply from ebay- if you look well you can pick up most parts for £10-£20 depending on condition, Bumpers may be slightly more around £30 for rear anf £40ish for front

Of course on ebay you'll have postage costs aswel which will bump up the price. A reasonable local scrappy might be your best bet.

I wouldnt expect to pay more than £200 for the full kit

    .................................................. ............................................

In terms of spraying the kit of course it'll be ideal if you look for parts in the same colour as your car (what colour is it?) this will save quite a bit from getting parts resprayed.

A good price for spraying and getting a good job varies wherever you go, the place that i have mine done is usually about £50 a panel, with bigger ones such as bumpers, being a bit more.

£250-£500 will probably cover most peoples cost that have had the spraying done

    .................................................. ......................................

    For fitting:

Have you considered giving this a go yourself? Alot of the parts are easy

    Have a read here,

    http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74587

    and here

    http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55973

for a description of how to fit the parts

If you dont fancy giving it a go yourself then a bodyshop will probably fit it all for £100 give or take a little

    .................................................. ...............................

All in all rough estimate lets say possibly

    upto £200 getting kit
£350ish for spraying if you dont get parts in your colour
    £100 fitting

Maybe £650 as a rough benchmark?

keep your eye on this as it might be a very good price if it goes for that:

As the parts are already in primer, assuming that they are primered well then thatll save much of the spraying legwork, it wont cost alot then for a bodyshop just to spray over them as the legwork is done

I'll sell you this kit for £50 plus tenner for postage if you want. Its in primer and never been fitted.
it was bought for £95 from this company, heres one exactly like it on ebay:

okies thanks bud . Rep given as very helpful That one on ebay is collection in person and quite far from there.

    As another option: -

What if i just colour coded all the plastic bumpers n that and got it lowered. Would still look good IMO. How much would it be to paint the bumpers but not the black trim on the door panels etc?
  11. #11
To just paint the 2 bumpers without the black trim will probably cost approx £200, give or take £50 or so again depending on where you go.

If you want to see how it might look if you just colour code standard bumpers and black strips etc the best example on the site that i can think of is snewham's car

You can actually get the vt front and rear bumpers to fit a non arched saxo with a little bit of cutting and careful lining up. There is a user on here that has a bronze 1.1 with a vt front bumper on and it looks smart!

getting a vt bumper to fit a non vt model is easy, the side mounts on the fron and rear just need adjusting so it pulls the bumper in a bit more (front is easier than the back )
