#2have a look in the saxo faq mate there is a thing in there about a squeek coming from the back that may help
-
#3cheers m8 had a look an thats a ping noise, this is definatly a sqeak, ognna check tho cheers bud!
-
#4yeah i have exactly the same mate, and haven't got the slightest clue what it is! so far in the quest to finding the source of it, i've uprated my dampers, greased up every single joint under the car, and taken it to two garages in the hope they might be able to help me, but NO! and still have the squeek!
-
#5im not so much worried bout it as i havn't noticed any difference in handling etc but jus makes ya car sound like it aint looked after, i need to find the source it drives me crazy. if you find out any more let me kno cheers m8!

#7sqeeking or is it a creeking noise if so its just the torsion bar settling in, mine does it after being jacked up, i just sit on the back and bounce on it till it stops
-
#8its a very high pitched sqeek!
-
#9have either of you tried the FAQs listed above out of interest, i know the sound described is a ping but it would be easy enough for it to squeek and wont take long to check anyway
-
#10check to see if the discs are warped mate
-
#11perhaps you ran over a mouse
-
#12i KNOW what it is

its your rear ARB loose. -
#13squeek noise not ping noise
i got wrong for saying its the torsion bar as its not a high pitched squeek
-
#14torsion bar cannot move, its tight on splines. it IS the ARB.
-
#15well it creeks when you have had it adjusted or jacked up, when you lower it back on the floor it will start to creek until its settled back down
-
#16no, that is your ARB not in correct. t bars cannot move.
-
#17everything is in correct mate
so its the anti roll bar that is creeking not the torsion bar, well anyway thats what creeks on mine then just saying its not a ping or a creek, he said its a high pitched squeek -
#18it will be his ARB. yours will also be ARB, t bars cannot move unless teh splines are fucked.
your arb cannot be fully in if its creaking. how do you know its in tight? -
#19cos i have checked it, i bounce up and down on the back end after its been jacked up till it stops creeking and doesnt do it after that mate
-
#20bouncing wont tell you if arb is loose, you need to use a bolt and some washers to pull it further onto the splines.
-
#21mine does it too! i lowered it bout 55 on the rear n didnt do it for 2 years....just dropped it 80mm and its squeeks like a rat bein raped!
driving me insane too.....im gunna try sort it soon...better be the arb...pretty sure it aint tho
-
#22its been ok mate dont worry about it im not
-
#23i would. it will fuck your arb seals, tehn let water in, fuck your bearings which will fuck your beam.
-
#24been like that a good 4 years mate, tbh honest if it goes it goes but not going to spend much more on the car as im saving for a golf
-
#25ok so lets say for arguements sake its my ARB!
1. wtf is an ARB? never heard of one!
2. how do i go about sorting the problem out? what needs to be done? -
#26Anti Roll Bar
-
#28search button

and as scott said look in the FAQs tab -
#29
-
#30that isnt how to do it properly. thats just covering it up. you need to tighten the aARB further into the end plate.
-

-
#32tar biatch! rep'd your ass too!
-
#33nice one lads, good job we gettin some where, took mine to 2 garges 2day an thy dint kno what it was, so it my anti roll bar ... great!

#34hey .. jus realised mine doesnt sqeak in the rain so will it still be my arb had any1 tightened there up yet an has it worked?
