best place to buy suspension!?

  1. #1
just bought myself a phase 1 VTR to run around in, due to me owning a cossie aswell i want it to handle well now the suspension is ok but feels a little tired....

so i will be lowering the torsion bar 1 spline, an am wanting to fit uprated front shocks and springs and possibly rear dampers?

can anyone reccomened the best place to buy from and what kit as i'm new to saxo's really but i have been told bilstein shocks and dampers then eibach springs!?

any help would be great cheers Ad

I will (grudingly) admit that Alex's suspension guid is great.

The choice of suspension though, really, is down to the driver. Do you want looks? Ride comfort? Will you track it? What roads do you travel on mainly?

Bilstein Sport dampers are about the best you can buy. For that reason expect to see £500 disapear fairly swiftly. They are basicly heavily uprated versions of the standard damper and work well with Eibachs, though H and R are a bit stiffer and would be my choice. For a more track based setup, customs are the way forward

Kam racing do the shortened group N's, which may be the choice if you want lower than 30mm

Not sure who does sports now, I'll check and get back to you

the sprint kit for the 106 doesn't include the Group N dampers so if a cheaper option. Would definately fit the car. Think that works out at just over £300

The Billstien sport dampers are absolutely nothing like the standard dampers!!

They are effectively full length versions of the Group N dampers and, after 20k of use, Fucking Great

sorry was thinking of the streetline kit. I get mixed up with the similar naming of Eibach and bilstein stuff :d

good 40mm springs are rare so i'd go for the Bilstein Sprintline dampers on their own without springs then get either some custom Faulkner springs or some H&R springs if they do that drop for the car.

I'm not sure, My Sports were rebuilt just before I bought them to accomidate 200lb springs and 22mm bars and are infairness the most stand-out part on my car, however, they are unlikely to be a fair replection on the standard sports. I'd guess that the standard sports are similar to the sprint line dampers for ratings

well i'm not sure if many places sell the parts separately but we can work out a price for you as we are happy to sell individual parts as we get them all separate anyway.
