I recently bought a Raceland manifold for my Mk2 saxo but it does not fit because of my oil filter being in the way, obviously meant for a Mk1.. Can anyone tell me which manifold to go for and where to get it from? If anyone wants to buy it off me then that would be cool. cheers.

#2you need to ask a mod to move this thread to the saxo engine part as you will probely get more replys mate

#3lol dnt worry m8 im only new to this and i always post these things i the wrong place, is it a 4-2-1 or a 4-1 manifold that your wnting?
-
#4you need a mk1 oil filter, the mk1 filter thread, an M10 tap and screw and thats all I believe. Do a search for the 'How2' guide...

Follow my guide m8 to get round that problem its not hard and u wont need to spend much more money to sort it out -
#6Yea it is a 4-2-1 Mani.. i heard that i would have to get a completely seperate oil filter housing like a stand alone one and i would have to have it located somewhere else in the engine, and i have been quoted a few hundred quid!! but if a MK1 oil filter will fit on that would be good?!
-
#7read the guide above .. there is no need to relocate the filter.
-
#8Yea very good explanation!!
for me to do it i would have to have someone with me so i don't f**k it up if you know what i mean! do you know if there is a to suite mani for a furio MK2??
-
#9in english m8 lol
the raceland vtr manifold fits mk2 furio's if thats what you mean -
#10Well clearly its not meant to fit because you have to do work to the car for it to fit, isn't there a mani for the mk2 that fits straight on? is that better?
-
#11well im sure the seller wouldnt say it should fit if it wasnt to fit, they made it for the mk1 but it works fine when you have changed some things, which is not hard to do. ye other manifolds fit on with no problems but at a extra added price, but there not worth spending out only on a 1.4 furio
-
#12Yea I bought it at Donny 07 and it was advertised as "saxo 8v" .. probably have a go at it when i get time off.. cheers
-
#13ok not a problem but it will fit dw lol
-
#14Yes there is....i asked Kam-Racing if the other 2 manifold which is the SuperSprint & Piper Manifolds they do for the VTR's will fit without Oil Filter Relocation and these 2 manifolds i mentioned should fit without this problemQuote:Well clearly its not meant to fit because you have to do work to the car for it to fit, isn't there a mani for the mk2 that fits straight on? is that better?
-
#15We believe they will fit without any modification but we are going to give supersprint a call just to make sure.
-
#16tbh its not alot of work to move the oil filter is it? I am giving my m8 tom aka in_da_weeds a hand 2 mora to fit his manifold and move the oil filter.
-
#17Let me no what they say cos if they do then ill buy one from youQuote:We believe they will fit without any modification but we are going to give supersprint a call just to make sure.
Well tbh it might not be hard work to relocate it but i just dont want the hassle of doing that rather stick with the other oil filter and work my way round it -
#18Does anyone know if GMC manifolds are good?
-
#19GMC manifolds are great.
-
#20gmc manifolds are very good, ive got a piper one and it seems to have made a bit of difference. worth the money
-
#21we have a contact for Citroen motorsport so will see what they have to offer too..
-
#22Seriously, walk into Citroen parts division of a dealership, ask them for an mk1, a thread to screw into the block, get the tappet to cover the spare hole. They can even supply diagrams to swap the filters over.
It's easy mate, will take 10mins or so.
If you do change manifolds though, for a vtr: get a 4-1 GMC - yoiu'll appreciate the extra power on the top end as vtr's have a good low-mid power band and normally suffer a little higher up the rev range. 4-1 all the way dude, I've had both types and 4-1 is king... -
#23citroen didnt know what to do when i went to them to get the mk1 filter and the thread to hold it. the guy got proper confussed with the models etc haha. i put the part numbers on the guide, then you dont have to explain what you want to do
