increasing bhp on furio

  1. #1
    hi,
i was wondering if any of you guys could help with regards to increasing the bhp of my furio.

i already have a few plans for it which are
    -cat back exhaust system
    -raceland manifold
    -raceland induction (already ordered)

now i have been looking at ashley full exhaust systems as ive heard good things about them and are a good price. but what id like to know is where stocks them? and where have you guys bought them from?

also would a vtr raceland manifold fit onto the furio engine? if so would i need any extra parts to fit this? and would the manifold and exhaust system go together ok?

    any help much appreciated

Alrite m8, ive got a wee furio, ive done the piper cross induction kit (soon to be a BMC), powerflow exhaust which is brill, and a few small things lke twin spark, spark plugs and new coils. really i think we need to put a full exhaust system, induction and possible a manifold? cos theres two sensors in are manifold which are the lambda and like the co2 if they arent the same thing the car will run like shit at idle with the manifold bt depending on which one you chose there will be a decesend power gain! im also thinking of a ecu remap!

the vtr raceland fits furio engines you will need to fit a mk1 oil filter i have made a guide. http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87713

what do u mean it will run shit with a new manifold m8, i can tell you now all you need is a sleeve to cover one of the lamda sensors and have it sat in the engine bay and it will work fine, actually better than standard as you will have no cat and a new manifold. Please search about these things rahter than telling some1 the wrong information

can we bin the text talk folk. Ta.

for a furio i would say that they are the best for the money. KamRacing do a group buy for them at 119.50 i think, go have a look mate

Nice one m8, i was expecting to be paying on and around £230-£250 so that would be great! Is it hard to fit the manifold yourself or just leave it into a mechanic?
  14. #14
not hard at all m8 follow the guide on here to fit it, and my guide to get round all the problems

you thought of getting a ported and polished throttle body mate?

Why not just stick a vts engine in it?

thanks for the input guys but ive decided to sell up and get a vtr, instant 23bhp increase. would love a vts but insurance is too high at the minute.
so my wicked red furio is up for sale if anyone is interested!

    cheers

I think you've done the right thing there. You could swop over the Raceland onto that as well if you kept the old manifold. Widens the gap between the two cars yet further.

Now I would turn your attension to the handling and improving the suspension. No point in all that extra power if you have to slow down for bends lol!

put a vts lump in...and dont tell insurance
  24. #24
yeh well for what i would spend on the furio making it probably as fast as the vtr, then i might as well just buy a vtr and save money. then improve the vtr engine and handling wise. yeh im planning on holding the raceland back and saving it for the new one.

i should have about £2500 to play with for a vtr, would this be enough in your opinion for a good condition vtr??

and yes my plans will be to stick a vts lump in there, however i would rather wait, get used to the new power, then swap the engine, giving me that bit more of experience with higher power plus the insurance should drop.
abit risky not telling them imo
