just a thought

iv noticed that my vts revs right up to about 7800 rpm and wondered if thats normal. also when its idling the revs jump around a little. is it just me or does this sound like its been camed?
  2. #2
Rev limit isnt affected by cams, it is electronic so have to have been mapped as well,
  3. #3
right ok but if it was remaped itwould idle bang on 700-800 shouldnt it? mine jumps from 700 to 1200 and back again constantly
  4. #4
guess nobody can advise on this 1?
  5. #5
This is a common fault and not to do with any mods
  6. #6
on my vts it idles just under a thousand, and they rev to 7200 (something around that figure)

Cams will make it idle slightly lumpy
7800 RPM it has had limiter raised

Jumping between 800-1200 on idle will probably mean your ICV needs cleaning. http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...t=cleaning+icv that explains how to do it

^^ agreed, and the coolant temp sensor may be at fault also.

Mine revs up to 7500, and sits at 1k exactly when idle. Your dodgy idle does sound like ICV though.
