Saxo vtr manifold?

I have been searching for a manifold and been looking on ebay i have come across a stainless one but in the description it says phase one only? But I understand it will fit my phase two with the oil filter relocation.

What do I do about the lambda sensors? As the phase two has 2 lambda sensors and phase one only 1? So what will I need to do there?

Filter conversion is easiest part of changing manifold I think. Probably easier than fitting a sportex as I have heard they are a bitch to fit properly. Just sleeve the O2 sensor.

They aren't that bad, well mine wasn't...just requires a bit of slight modding.

I understand not everyone has had issues but I've read on here a few times they are not the best fit compared to others.

I have just read a few people on here saying sportex manifolds are shit etc, so may leave that now. What you mean sleeve it sorry new to this. Which sensor will go were and which one do I sleeve?

Because there is only 1 lambda hole. You need to plug in the green lambda and sleeve the blue one. The blue one is an o2 sensor so needs to read clean air. So buy a sleeve of kam or gmc and leave it unplugged in the engine bay. And that's sorts it

I did have issues mate, but depending on the price you get one for it may be worth it if you're good at tinkering with stuff....I got my sportex mani for under £50...the welds on the top were already ground down a bit to alow the manifold to bolt to the head as otherwise this gets in the way i've heard...as I say this was already done on mine so I dunno how hard it is...the only other thing was making a bracket to bolt it to the gearbox as the one on the sportex doesn't reach....and getting some bolts threaded all the way along top fit to the centre section joint so it goes tight enough.

I am not fucking about with that then, You would of thought sportex would at least make it sit for purpose if its for the mark 2, I will get a raceland 4-2-1 for mark 1, Then get my mate to fit it with the adaptor for the oil filter.

TBH I found it a lot easier than pissing about with filters...what about when you go to fit your old mani back for MOT and it fouls the mk1 oil filter :/ Entirely upto you though mate, I'll be honest I wouldn't be happy if i'd paid full price for mine but chekc out eBay see if you can get a bargain.

Why would you fuck about with switching manifolds for the MOT..?
Just get an under-car cat from a pre-2000 VTR and fit that for the MOT.

becuase if you have a mk 2 exhaust system, and want to fit an under car cat then you will have to buy a mk 1 centre section that is shorter so that the underfloor cat will fit in between the centre section and manifold.

so its cheaper and easier to just keep the standard mark 2 mani and cat and whack it back on for the MOT.

and to the OP

Raceland do a 4-1 stainless manifold for the mk2 that doesnt require re-locating the oil filter.
Kam Racing sell them but there over 200 pound.

Pug1off sell them for 171 quid.

Under floor cat is easiest to do. But you can also just chuck the mk2 filter back on if you wanted. Seriously though the filter conversion is easiest part of changing a manifold I think. When you think about it its only undo 3 bolts, screw in filter insert. Screw in filter. Tap the oil return and done.

i would avoid ebay specials tbh.

the 4-2-1 is meant to give better performance through out the rev range, where as 4-1 is meant to be more power all through but mainly higher up the revs.

but if your not on a track then it doesnt really matter which you get, for normal/fast road use a 4-1 wouldnt be much differnce from a 4-2-1.

its your choice.

but i am going for the raceland 4-1, less fuck about factor, pretty cheap, and there quality made.

also i already have a 4-2-1 manifold on atm but its not stainless, would this make any difference in deciding what manifold to choose from the listed suggestions.

As said, i doubt you will notice much diff between a 4-2-1 and 4-1...

If that eBay one is the same as a few others on there I was told they are a shit fit and discolour easy, not had any experience mysel though.

if youve already got a 4-2-1 fitted i wouldnt bother getting any other manifold stainless or no stainless, the performance will still be the same, id just keep the one you got mate.

nah i doubt there is any change, only the obvious corrosion, the steel one will rust where as the stainless one will not, but should still last years before any troubles
