Tried getting help off 106 owners forum and not one person will help me.. So thought I would try here ....
    Basically, I have a 106 Quiksilver.
I bought a 1.6 gti engine for it and then realised that my car is single plug however the one I bought is 3 plug.
Is it just a case of buying a single plug ecu and loom for the engine to work?
    Or will thisnot work?

You can get the 3 plug loom spliced into the internal loom. Or you can buy a 3 plug internal loom.

Don't think you an use the single plug loom on a 3 plug engine as most of the sensors are different could just swap them all over I guess. I think splicing the loom would be the easiest and cheapest option.

So a single plug loom and ecu will not make it work ?
I just rang Pug1off n they seemed to think it would work, unless they were misunderstood....
Do you have any idea how I would find out about splicing the loom? I am struggling to find much help on the internet

iirc the interior loom has a different connector from single to 3 plug so would need splicing. Some one on here splices looms have a search.

    Pm tom5190 he splices looms

You can use a single plug loom and ecu, but you need to swap the majority of the sensors on the engine to single plug sensors too, i cant remember which ones off the top of my head but it has been covered here a few times so might be able to find it.

ring pug1off back they are the ones who splice them. it costs about 150 quid.

Would cost more for all the sensors and stuff than it would to splice the loom.

Quite likely, however i personally would rather use a complete single plug set up than start using spliced looms.
Thats just my opinion but i'm only letting the OP know that it is do-able with relative ease.
