Mk1 VTS Wiring Help

  1. #1
Ok Slightly deceptive title but, I'm looking for the Pin out data for the Mk1 VTS Engine bay multiplug (interior side)

I would check autodata but its not up and running yet, and i suspect it won't have this sort of data.

Has anyone got this from one of their conversions? Iirc there might of been an AX thread on it? Willsy?

    Thanks,

Just a few questions could you go into a bit more depth on your pin out's ie from another wiring diag i have got:

    1 ECU pin 13 Wire: 822/823
    2 ECU pin 31 Wire: 140 - DLC
    3 ECU pin 12 Wire: 141 - DLC
    4 ECU pin 48 Wire: 820 - Coded Keypad
    5 Relay pin 14
    6 Cranking
    7 Reverse switch pin 1
    8 Reverse switch pin 2
    9 ECU pin 42 Wire: 425 - Instrument Panel - Tacho
10 Relay pin 13 Fuel pump output
    11 Lambda pin 1 Feed
    12 Oil pressure switch
    13 Charging light
14 Oil level sensor pin 1
15 Coolant temp sensor pin 1
16 Oil level sensor pin 2
17 Coolant temp sensor pin 2
    18 Oil temp sensor
    19 ECU pin 9 Wire: 480 - MIL Lamp
    20 ECU pin 27 Wire: 821 - Coded Keypad
    21 Blank
    22 Blank
    23 Road speed signal

Could you try and list the Input's / Output's Ie is it coming from car to engine or engine to car. obviously the sensors will be engine to car to instrument cluster, also could you clarify your definitions ie:

    13 - Charging light ... divuldge
23 - Road Speed signal (do you mean VSS? And is it a signal to the Instrument Cluster for speedo?)
12 - Oil Pressure Switch (again is this just a signal from engine to car for instrument cluster?)
11 - Lambda Sensor Feed (again which way is it going and by feed do you mean a 12v supply?)

7 Reverse switch pin 1 - Both of these just for reversing lights?
    8 Reverse switch pin 2

10 Relay pin 13 Fuel pump output - What relay do you mean i assume from the relay under ecu, but the long and short of it, its the supply signal for fuel pump from engine to car?

    5 Relay pin 14 - what relay?

    Sorry lots of Q there.

Charging light is the battery light on the dash which is extinguished when the engine is running and the alternator is charging
Road speed signal is the vehicle speed sensor on the gearbox for your speedo
Oil pressure switch is pretty self explanatory, it's for the light on the dash which is extinguished when oil pressure is achieved
Lambda feed is the 12v feed for the heater, nothing to do with the signal as with the ecu on the engine loom, there is no need for any of the sensing side to leave the engine loom and go into the car
The fuel pump is switched on by the relay under the ecu, so the fuel pump feed is the signal feed from that relay that heads into the car to run the fuel pump.
The relay is the one under the ecu.
Yes both wires are for turning the reverse lights on, you need a feed in and one out to the reverse lights.
    Hope this helps

Thats Great mate thank you, just clarifying as some people call things different things.

It is incredibly simple once you get down to it,

So essentially all that is required to run the car (if it Unlocked ECU) is:

    5 Relay pin 14
    6 Cranking
10 Relay pin 13 Fuel pump output
    11 Lambda pin 1 Feed

The only thing I wasn't too clear on was Pin 5 Relay Pin 14 , I follow that Relay Pin 13 is a signal from the relay to the pump to activate. But do you know what the Relay Pin 14 is for? input, output, signal, feed?

    Thanks Again.

I think i answered my own question about Pin 5 Relay Pin 14 by looking at the wiring diag, appears its just an Ignition Live to the relay, which also supplies the ECU with power.

ign+ve input is pin 14 FP relay

    Edit: to slow

Its ok, my awesomeness prevailed, starting to get on with more and more wiring diags. now to find the engine wiring diag lol

    What do you need?
